Recent OOTDs

So I feel like I haven't blogged in forever about what I have been wearing.. Which is why I pretty much started my blog in the first place! So, I thought I'd keep this one short and just make it all about the outfits and give you a bit of info on where they are from and how much they cost! Hopefully inspire a few new OOTDs for any of my readers!

So, 2 of my absolute fave going OUT out clobber recently are these 2 saucy items below. We all know I love culottes from a previous blog I wrote, I found this black culotte jumpsuit from Miss Selfridge. It was definitely the most comfortable night out I have had in a while and since the bust had underwire, it made me feel super safe. This was £60 and it came with the belt. Always add a pop of colour with your lipstick! The second outfit was this nude/gold bandage dress with trumpet hem from Dress Me Zara for £80. I absolutely adored this and got a lot of compliments on it. Because its quite a thick material, it sucked me in and smoothed out all my bumpy bits!

There have also been a few day outfits I have been rather fond of recently... I am a big fan of double denim because I think it can be quite risky, but if you can pull it off then definitely go for it. For this simple day look I teamed together my black ripped jeans from Miss Guided, a long sleeved black crop from Topshop, a denim jacket from Primark and rolled the sleeves up over the long sleeved crop and then put on my beautiful Dr Martens.

Another day outfit I recently wore for a friends birthday was this cute midi dress from ASOS (Around £35). It is quite thin material so I was sure to wear my big knickers! But the detail on this dress was to die for.. It buttons up at the back, has a front split up to the thigh and a high neck collar. I teamed this with some strappy heeled sandals from Primark (£14) and my favourite Harry Potter sorting hat from Tophop.

Finally, a casual evening wear outfit I wore to go for tea with one of my friends was this simple jeans and jacket combo, which I don't really think you can go wrong with. I wore my skinny jeans from River Island, a plain black cami top from ASOS, a floral jacket from River Island and my open toe black heels from Miss Guided.

I have so many exciting things coming up that I cannot wait to get blogging about... El Mac at Forever Living is sending me more products to review, and I am going to get the girls involved to try some samples! I have been in contact with someone who suppliers Younique beauty products and is sending over some cosmetics for me to review, and I have also been invited to a local event to blog about and network with some local businesses! Yaaay!

Liebster Award.. Get to know more about the blogger!

Who am I?

The age old question. As my previous readers will know, my name is Suey Miller and I have been nominated by one of my beautiful best friends and fellow blogger +claudia wright for the Liebster Award. Its essentially an email chain that goes around various bloggers asking them personal questions to answer, before they then themselves create a new list of questions and forward them onto other bloggers! In simpler terms, a nice and funny way to get to know the blogger behind all of the drivel that they post! So here it goes...

1. If you were a contestant on mastermind, what would your specialist subject be?
This is actually a great question because I was talking about this at work about a week ago. Someone asked me what it would be, and I was stumped, I couldn't think of 1 topic that I knew absolutely everything about. So I went off, and it actually made me feel quite sad. I was thinking right that's it, I need to start learning about something really random, because I don't think netball or cheese is really mastermind material. And then it hit me, HARRY POTTER! I am actually obsessed, everything about it makes me happy. (And don't tell anyone, but I have a bit of a thing for Voldemort) Not even sorry.

2. If you could only eat 1 meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
This is probably the hardest decision I have ever had to make because I love everything.. But it would have to be a Taco Pizza from Dogs N Dough (That I have written about in a previous blog). I would travel to the other side of the world for that pizza.

3. Why did you take up blogging?
I wrote about this in my first blog.. I like keeping busy, and blogging is a way of killing a bit of time when I get home from work. I also have quite a few people asking me where I get some of my clothes from, so naturally I thought sharing it in 1 place instead of replying to individuals was a much more efficient use of my time! It also gives me a chance to network with local businesses and find out a bit more about them and looking for reasons to try new stores and get others to support smaller boutiques too! I am the kind of person that gets quite bored easily so I am constantly on the look out for a new hobby. I have done netball, running, guitar, pole fitness, blogging and my mum is going to teach me how to use the sewing machine which will be my next little project!

4. What is your biggest achievement to date and why?
Most probably when I got onto the Business Apprenticeship scheme that I am on now.. Due to finish in June so that will make it a REALLY great achievement. I have worked awfully hard to be where I am, and I have pretty much finished all of my NVQ work which was a big relief so I can concentrate fully on the day job. Stats also show that it is harder to get onto this apprenticeship scheme then it is to get into Cambridge. #TheChosenOne

5. What is your favourite thing about yourself? And what would you like to change?
I'm not sure if this question meant physically or personality traits but, not being 1 to toot my own horn, I actually like how selfless I can be. Whether it be going out of my way at work to help someone get a task done, or getting a round in for the girls, or looking after the beautiful Chlo so Jonny can go watch footy. My motto has always been "Its nice to be nice". I think the world would be a better place if everyone put others first once in a while. There are actually 3 things I would like to change about myself.. 1. I can be very indecisive and I think this is down to how laid back I am, I'd like to be able to decide where I want to go for dinner once in a while. 2. My nose. As crazy as it sounds, my right nostril is longer than my left one and I actually hate it. 3. My skin, like I have said in a previous blog, I have a lot of scaring on my face from when I was younger and it can make me feel very self conscious like 70% of the time. I wish it didn't bother me, but it does.

6. Explain your style in 3 words
Not weather appropriate.

7. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully with some sort of promotion under my belt at work.. My plan is to get into management and eventually get higher than my dad (Head of Procurement), which is going to take a lot of graft but I want to beat him. Possibly studying a Business Management degree if work are feeling generous and want to pay for me! I'd also like to be living with Jonny in a nice little 2/3 be, probably have a dog named Dave, be financially stable and still be surrounded by my wonderful friends and family.

8. What is the most expensive beauty product/item of clothing you own?
I'm not one for splashing out on extravagant garments and I've never felt the need for designer gear.. I am a proper bargain hunter! (As you can probably tell from my blogs!) BUT saying all that, I once went a little crazy and bought a £180 black sequin dress from Topshop. It was looking at me with little puppy dog eyes and I just couldn't say no. The motto YOLO seems appropriate right now.

9. What is the story behind your blog name?
Its probably the worlds shortest story.. Its Suey Miller, because that is my name. Sorry to disappoint anyone that was expecting something a little more adventurous.

10. Who is your favourite Kardashian and why?
Khloe, because she is funny as f**k, doesn't take crap off anyone and she has also worked her ass off and looks absolutely amazing for it. Fair play to the girl!

11. If you had a dinner party and could invite 3 people (dead or alive), who would they be?
I thought about this question for a while and trying to narrow it down to who I would most want to meet the most...
- Serge from Kasabian, I just think he is a proper lad and would be up for sambucca shots before, during and after each course
- Cara Delevingne, because she seems like she is quite funny/quirky, and I could also get some amazing style tips from her. She is my absolute icon.
- David Beckham, because everyone likes a bit of eye candy.

I hope this read has been a little bit interesting for my readers! Since I am still new to this blogging thing, the only person I could think of to nominate was my beautiful friend Sam @allthingsbabyandbeauty - I look forward to reading your answers!

1. What is the best thing you have ever done?
2. If you had to choose between food and alcohol, which would you pick?
3. What is your favourite item of clothing in your wardrobe?
4. If you were a shoe, what kind of shoe would you be and why?
5. What is your absolute dream job?
6. What made you want to start blogging?
7. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
8. Who is your style icon and why?
9. Favourite pastime?
10. What is the 1 thing you wouldn't live without?

Clothes To The Edge

Another vintage boutique!! I have used Clothes To The Edge a few times to purchase from and I have spoken to Megan (the owner) on a few occasions about her merchandise and she was just as keen to get this blog out as I was! I first found Clothes To The Edge on Instagram and instantly fell in love with what Megan had discovered. I know that this online shop has grown, from initially selling clothes via Instagram and on EBay, Clothes To The Edge now has an online shop full of quirky outfits at super low prices. If you are into old school clothes and having 1 off items that you wont see anyone else wearing, then this is the perfect shop for you! It is full of bright over sized shirts, sporty jumpers and cute skirts. After speaking to Megan, I decided to send her a few questions so you lot could get a bit more info on what this shop is really about...

1. What inspired you to start Clothes To The Edge?
I would say what inspired me to start clothestotheedge was the passion I had for making old clothes look quirky! I knew the feeling I got when I looked at my outfit and knew that nobody else would be wearing the same one! And I wanted to give other people that feeling.

2. How long have you been around and what do you think makes you successful?
My instagram page has been around now for about 13 months but my actually website has only been live 6! I think the key to success is doing something you truly love. I'm lucky I've found that and I do everything I can to keep my passion which is clothestotheedge going as strong as it can!

3. What makes clothes to the edge different from other vintage boutiques?
Being a vintage boutique you are already different. Even though there are thousands out there, each one has its own personal quirk to it! I think with clothestotheedge because it's only myself running it, it's nice to get on a personal and more friendly basis with my customers! I absolutely love each and every one of them.

4. Why should people purchase from you and not more mainstream shops?
The purpose of clothestotheedge is to be unique in your own personal way, the reason I stopped buying statement pieces from high street stores (although they are great) is because I hated walking out the door and spotting someone in the same top as me! (Awks) therefore if like me you like to be just that bit different clothestotheedge has it for you!

5. Plans for the future
My current plans for the future is to expand clothestotheedge as much as I can and making it bigger and better than ever! Being one person doing everything it Is so hard to keep everything going but I just want to take this chance now to thank every single customer I have as you keep clothestotheedge going :) !!

This is my most recent purchase.. Vintage floral blouse and super comfy shorts. This whole outfit was only £20
