NYC confusion

So I think that every man and his dog know that I am heading to the greatest city on earth in a matter of weeks thanks to the lovely Jonathan. NYC BABY!!!! So, like most girls, I have started thinking about what I am going to wear, then it dawned on me... I don't know what's "cool" to wear on nights out in the Big Apple. I started to try on some attire bearing in mind that its going to be about -238798 degrees there. So I started with a long sleeved polo neck dress so that everything isn't exposed, and although this dress is quite thin, it is surprisingly cosy! I put on a white sleeveless blazer with it to try and formalise (if that is even a word) it a bit. And of course, this white blazer is a necessity in my wardrobe because if you have read my previous blogs, you will know that I adore monochrome, and it pretty much goes with anything e.g. jazz up some jeans and heels.
Moving down from the main outfit, I thought what can I wear on my feet. As my extremities get very cold very fast, my first thought was FLUFFY SOCKS! But obviously, I cant just go out in socks so I chucked on my over knee boots that are very "in" right now. So not only am I warm, but I will be able to last long on the dance floor because these boots are comfy as hell.  I will be putting some Crep Protect on them as they are suede and I could be trekking in some form of blizzard to the bars. But, I can assure you that I will be rocking that dance floor by myself as my other half really isn't one to start busting out the migraine skank!
If anyone has any advice on NYC attire for the winter and for nights out, then please comment below, it would be much appreciated as I don't want to look like a twat.

Dress is from Miss Selfridge, Blazer is from Daisy Lane and Boots are from MissGuided
