I live off dry shampoo, quite literally. I have body showers daily but have the most hair in the entire world, it takes around 30 minutes just to blow dry it. I hate it. And I am most certainly not willing to do it on a daily basis. So, like most people, every other day is dry shampoo day! (Or morning after the night before is definitely a dry shampoo day.. cant do it on a hangover!) But over the past 3 weeks I decided to look into 3 different brands that were around the similar price and thought I would voice my verdicts on here.
First one I looked into was SuperDrugs own brand dry shampoo. Slightly cheaper than the more well known brands but should apparently have the same affect as the more pricey ones! They can actually states "100% happiness guaranteed". I used it as it was directed on the can but I was actually very disappointed, the dry shampoo some how managed to make my hair feel matted and when I was trying to rub it in it felt as if my hands were just getting stuck and knotted. I tried the spray again 2 days later to give it a fair chance but the same thing happened. I don't feel like my hair looked fresher, I feel it actually looked a mess and the grey residue didn't disappear. I am sorry Super Drug, I was all up for giving this brand a go to save on the pennies but sometimes it is just better to invest for a better quality out come.
I would give this product 4/10 (Sorry, Not Sorry)
The next one I looked into was a salon brand, Tresemme dry shampoo. And Tresemme is known for having salon quality hair for an affordable price and without having to go to the salon! So just like the others, I followed the instructions on the can.. I was very happy that there wasn't any grey residue left on my hair after rubbing it in, but I didn't notice a difference after I had used the spray. My hair pretty much looked exactly the same. So, I put a little more in, but I still didn't see a massive improvement. My hair felt slightly damp afterwards so I was reluctant to put anymore on to try and get a bit of a better result. My hair was a little softer but no visible improvement on the quality of my hair.
I would give this product a 6/10
Last one, and most popular of all the dry shampoo brands.. Batiste! This is the one that I would use normally, but like I said in the intro, I wanted to try something different and try and save some pennies. To make it fair, I used the instructions from the can just like the others, and yes there is a grey residue that initially comes out from this can (and it does show up more on dark hair) but after rubbing it in for a minute it disappears. I think majority of girls will agree that this dry shampoo is ruddy good. It made my hair look like I had just been in the shower and it also good for styling your hair too! (as seen on the Pixie Lott adverts!) I did go into making this blog rooting for the underdog but I have to say, that Batiste is best by far.. As the original dry shampoo company I would have expected them to set the bar too!
I would give this product 9/10
My next plan is to compare fake tans (although I am not really a fake tan connoisseur so it will be from an amateurs perspective!) I have also been in contact with some designers and boutiques so keep an eye out for my new blogs and opinions on them!
