The Power Brow

Firstly, too all (if any) of my regular readers, I apologise that I haven't blogged in almost a month! I have had the busiest Christmas ever but plan to do a blog on what I have been doing shortly (including my amazing trip to NYC) but I was just so excited to write about my new favourite product and to share my review with you!

Now I think everyone knows how important it is to get your eyebrows correct if you are going to draw them on. I have seen some absolute horrors floating about, so I think finding the tools that suit you best is imperative to get your perfect shape and colour. Unfortunately, as you will see in my pictures below, my natural eyebrows are pretty non-existent which is rather annoying having dark brown hair, so I have tried a few different products to get something that suits me best. I used to use a Maybelline pencil, which I became pretty tired of because the led was forever snapping so I was buying a new one pretty much every week. I then moved onto Benefit BrowZing which I adored but towards the end of its use, the wax became quite thick and the brushes weren't as slick despite washing them regularly etc. But I would use BrowZing as a quick fix in the morning to save time.

I've been following Anastasia Beverley Hills on Instagram for a while now but have never seen her products in the UK (although I may have been looking in the wrong places), but I didn't want to order it online because it can be risky with the colour/texture etc. BUT to my amazement, I was in a little Superdrug like shop in New York when on my way to the till I saw the Anastasia Beverley Hills range.. I even let out  a little squeal. Knowing what products I already liked from Instagram, I picked up the Dipbrow Pomade (Medium Brown) and the Dipbrow Brush (#12). There are other eyebrow brushes you can use but this one came recommended with the Dipbrow pot. The Dipbrow make-up cost around £15 and the brush was about £12 so really good price for the both.

It is scary not knowing how to apply an eyebrow especially since if it goes wrong, then it goes really wrong. On the Instagram +AnastasiaBeverlyHills it shows you step by step how to apply the Dipbrow product which I have found really useful and have shown pictures below how I apply it step by step.

Using the angled brush end, I draw the outer line below the brow, above the arch and join in at the end corner leaving the wider end open for blending. I then use the bristle end to fill in the brow starting from the open end working it towards the closed corner, which gives it a more natural look. I then use the angled end again to work the shape of the open end, making sure that this end matches with the corner of my eye (to avoid that monobrow look!) Also helps to give you that really prominent brow with a professional finish! I would give this product a massive 9/10.. best eyebrow product I have bought by far but there is always room for improvement!

Keep your eyes peeled for my up and coming blogs including a guide to New York, my highlights of 2014 and what I have planned for 2015 (including my new hobby!)
