Dogs 'N' Dough

This is my first and probably only ever foodie review but I feel so strongly about this diner that I felt that I just HAD to write a blog about it!!

Me and my other half stumbled across this beauty of a place whilst wandering around Manchester in search of a watering hole in December 2013! With a very discreet neon sign on Bow Street where it is located, Dogs N Dough is the most perfect place to eat, drink and catch up with friends. On our first visit, we walked down the stairs towards the basement to find an American style diner in a wonderfully decorated basement-y area. We first went in for drinks (before we knew it served food) and the bar staff were just amazing. They recommended drinks from their cocktail menu that suited our taste.. My personal favourite is a Lipstick Jungle (Vodka, Strawberry, Lemon and Maple).. For Bourbon lovers they do a great Old Fashioned or New York sour, and for those that are brave, try a Blazing Saddle (Bourbon, Apple, Vermouth and Chilli)! They also do a wonderful cocktail called The Ron Burgundy.. Scotchy Scotch Scotch! Little tip.. Look out for their happy hour deals!

We then saw the food that they were carrying out, which looked and smelt divine (and it is a very rare occasion that I will use such a compliment). If you like pizza and hotdogs, then this is the place for you. Upon reading the menu at first, I was slightly confused, I didn't know if it was a pizza or just a dish, for example "The Triple Threat" which is Bacon Cheeseburger with Fries.. Which is actually all of that, but on a pizza. What I have usually ordered when eating there is the Macaroni and Cheese with Bacon on pizza, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.. Another absolute winner is "The Taco Pizza".. which includes Chilli Beef, Sour Cream, Lettuce and Doritos on a pizza. When eating this, Jonny said, and I quote.. "Whoever invented this deserves knighting". These pizzas literally make me never want to eat a Dominos again. If you have a bit of a sweet tooth then they do a Dessert pizza, which is based with Nutella then have a range of toppings you can stick on! Check out their website for more of the menu, anything that can go on a pizza, they will have put it on! Also, as I have previously mentioned, they do hot dogs aswell with pretty much the same idea, anything obscure will go on that hot dog. One of their best I think the Philli Steak Cheese hotdog (Steak, Crispy Shallots, BBQ sauce, Peppers and Cheese), what's not to love? Or how about The Colonel (Fried Chicken, Slaw and BBQ sauce) ALL ON A HOT DOG! I cant get over how impressive and inventive it is, all the dishes are well presented and the taste is like nothing I have ever had before. If your not after something too filling then they also do bar snacks such as Cheese Fries, Nachos and Onion Rings.

Like I said, this is probably the only food review I will ever do, but I try to make a trip to this place everytime I go to Manchester, and plan to go a lot more in the future!
